This set of backgammon pieces is similar to what I like to play with. The pieces are heavier than plastic or wood, and they are smooth and shiny giving them a great feel. Because they are heavier, the lend themselves to being slammed on the table when playing, making lots of loud noise that is compulsory in a fast, action-packed game of backgammon.
I’ve tried to research what “Uria Stone” is but seems like the world wide web has drawn a blank on that one. The only reference I could find to it was someone else reviewing this product claims it’s the same material bowling balls are made out of. I’m thinking this is the manufacturer’s “proprietary terminology”.
Regardless, most product reviews around the web point to a positive experience for these playing pieces.
